Gasket Kit

Why is our kit better than others? Here is why:

  1. because it complies with the original engine specifications (in all other kits we have checked, there were parts wrong in the materials, dimensions or just missing);

  2. because we have introduced a number of innovations and improvements that others surely didn't;

  3. because we even have options you can choose from!

 

Here follows in more detail what makes our kit unique and unsurpassed in the whole scenario of RG 500 parts.

  1. Compliance with the original engine specifications:

    • ALL the engine ORings (some kits miss some parts);

    • ORings correctly sized (some kits have some parts wrong);

    • copper washers are copper (some kits use zinc plated iron!);

    • different gaskets for front and rear cylinder banks (some kits use same gasket for both);

    • additional silicon borders where needed (some kits haven't).

  2. Improvements over the original parts:

    • rotary valve seats gasket is in a material that doesn't mess like stock one;

    • rotary valve seats gasket has a resized window together with a smaller shaft hole that makes things easier to those who have tuned intake ports, but still perfectly compatible with stock engines;

    • additional set of 4x 0.1 mm rotary valve cover gaskets is included for your ease of tuning as most stock RG 500 engines have excess disc-cover clearance.

  3. Options you can choose from:

    • if you don't want the modified rotary valve cover gaskets and you are looking for perfect, museum like restoration, we also have the gaskets in same design as stock and made in a similar material, just drop us a note when you are placing the order and we'll replace them with no surcharge;

    • if you need tuning cylinder timing and/or squish height in a reversible way, additional 0.3 mm base cylinder gaskets are available too (with surcharge);

    • rotary valve cover ORings made in Viton (more resistant to gasoline);

    • pick up ORing made in Viton (more resistant to gasoline);

    • carburettors flanges ORings made in Viton (more resistant to gasoline).

In total, the kit in complete version contains 80 pieces and 13 of these are in Viton. Beware of other kits claiming to have more pieces than ours, it doesn't mean they are more complete! On the contrary, there are kits that just include extra exhaust gaskets to add to the count, then miss some ORings or other parts!  Our kit is complete, it has all the 76 necessary pieces + 4 extra valve gaskets = total of 80 pieces. Beware of purchasing a kit based on the number of pieces only... you may have a nasty surprise!

 

If you're wondering how it is possible that there's so much difference between our kit and others', the reason is very simple: we are specialized in the RG 500, the others make gaskets for a thousand different bikes but they've hardly seen a RG 500!
