This kit replaces all ORings of the RG500 engine that are exposed to contact with gasoline, with ORings made in VITON (FKM, an elastometer that is extremely resistant to hydrocarbons).
The kit includes the 4 rotary valve ORings, the 8 carburettor flange ORings and the pick-up ORing.
Have you ever wondered why most seizures in the RG500 happen in cylinder #3? Well, consider that cylinder #3 is the one having the pick-up and that the original ORing is made in NBR (it gets deteriorated quickly when in contact with gasoline) and moreover most of competitors' aftermarket gasket kits include ORings that not only are made in NBR, they LOOK like the original ones but they are in slightly differnt size... and 1 or 2 tenth of a mm is enough to make the difference between a correctly installed ORing and an ORing that leaks.
Ours are the right size AND are made in VITON: our VITON ORing kit drastically reduces the likelihood of experiencing an air-leak seizure. An investment of a few dollars against the risk of a failure that would be much more expensive. Remember that air leaks are one of the most frequent causes of seizures.
DIRECTION FOR USE:
- clean perfectly and lubricate lightly both ORing seats;
- lubricate well the ORings with oil or grease before mounting;
- gently install. Scratches on the ORing surface reduce its sealing capability;
- check the ORings periodically and replace when necessary. VITON is much more resistant than NBR but no material lasts forever.
